Without further ado, here’s the 4 song EP, free to stream and download.
It ranges all the way from alternative rock, to indie, to classical and back over the course of the 4 songs. Partially due to my background in classical piano, guitar, and violin.
Field Day pretty much stays within its limits as an indie electronic rock song, but 1000 SUNS starts as a rock song, becomes a classical waltz and slowly brings the electric guitar back in into a rock song. Fade Out probably sounds like an acoustic song but was done with a classical guitar and with classical in mind, and then becomes a bit of a piano rock song. Westbound is our oldest of songs - I actually wrote it over 5 years ago - however, it’s changed a lot since then. It’s quiet and patient and builds and deneuments.
If you like what you hear, please go ahead and share! We also just opened our facebook page and so don’t have a lot of action on it yet, so please like us there. Thanks!
Hello friends,
I’ve been quiet lately in these parts because I’m letting down Souls of Solace. I’ve been focusing on my new album with Winchester called Disassembling Rainbows. So as a few final postings I will talk/post the EP here.
So first of all, you may stream and download, for free, the EP here at soundsofwinchester.com
I like these, wish they were expanded on though- more than
two stills.

Junya Ishigami’s Balloon is a meditation on the relationship between space, scale and heft. A massive polyhedron seemingly lodged in a high volume atrium, almost filling up the whole space, yet the feeling is not of oppression and claustrophobia. The highly reflective surface of the polyhedron projects a distorted twin of the very space it fills into itself. The great shadow it casts on the ground is a reminder of its real physical existence. The polyhedron does not quite touch the sides of the atrium which bound the space, instead it floats precariously, suspended in the space, its whole 1 ton weight, as if caught in a moment of free fall, frozen, the instant before it hits the ground and shatters into shards of fractured reflections.
Anonymous asked: are you going to reopen the stg forum now that carah is back?
That’s funny, I didn’t realize anyone would notice my affiliation.
Well, I actually had no involvement in the creation of the forum-I did do a bit of a whistleblower site for a while that revealed some rumours before the band confirmed them. Apparently there’s actually a fairly strong new forum up- shinytoyguns.net I believe.
Were you a former forum member?
